Also, under the auspices of Professional Boundaries Education. a medical education company, I created and have taught multiple times a year a 21 Continuing Medical Education credits (CME) course on appropriate prescribing of opioids to a target audience of physicians, PAs, NPs, dentists, physical therapists, other health professional, attorneys, etc., most of whom were referred by their professional licensing board because of difficulties in their prescribing; other professionals attend the course to prevent such problems. For the past 9 years I have been participating in “Project ECHO Pain,” a biweekly live computer-based educational program sponsored by the Weizman Institute https://painnet.net/members where a team of experts is connected to multiple primary care clinics throughout the U.S. Prescribers present complex chronic pain patients and we provide them suggestions for optimal treatment of that patient.

I am also on the Editorial Board of the journal Practical Pain Management, for which I also write an occasional column about opioid prescribing called “Ask the Expert.”
